Our Story
On April 26, 2019, Justin and I were blessed with our warrior, Rowan. During pregnancy, Rowan was diagnosed with LUTO and we were told that he may not survive the pregnancy. We welcomed our little miracle into the world 8 weeks premature. Rowan was very sick and spent 5 months in the NICU. He was born with one partially-functioning kidney, a damaged bladder, and underdeveloped lungs.
On May 25, 2021, after spending 2 years on dialysis, Rowan received a kidney transplant! Rowan’s superhero dad was a perfect match and donated a kidney to him. Rowan is so brave and he is living his second chance at life to the fullest. He became a proud big brother in January 2022 when we welcomed our son, Weston, into the world.

I'm Amanda, the designer and voice behind Row Baby. I live in Ohio with my husband, Justin, our NICU warrior, Rowan, his baby brother, Weston, and our pup, Raymie.
Before becoming a caretaker for Rowan and stay-at-home mom to both of my boys, I ran my own design business. Now, whenever I can find time, I love to write about our experiences and create illustrations for Row Baby. I love to share our story and let other families in similar situations know that they are not alone. When I first learned of Rowan’s diagnosis, I felt so lost and didn't know anyone who understood what I was going through. If you can relate, know that you are welcome here!
